Sportfishing is one of the most popular recreational activities on the coast. Fishermen from around the world have brought in record sizes catches in almost every category, caught just offshore. This region is known as the sailfish capital of the world.
Just outside our natural harbor, Potrero offers great opportunities for both inshore and offshore fishing, providing year round opportunities for everything from marlin and sailfish to tuna, snapper, dorado, roosterfish, wahoo and mackerel.
The captains here know how and where to fish and practice catch and release for the larger sport fish such as Marlin, sails and roosters. This helps us preserve the abundance and variety of marine life which keeps the true sport fishing aficionados returning year after year.
Tuna, pargo and dorado often end up on the dinner table after a successful day. Some of the local restaurants will cook your fish for you, with advance notice. Your captain can help with arrangements.
